Putting City Auction Group In Your Pocket.
Here at City Auction group we are always working to apply the
best & latest technology in order to improve our service to our
customers. Lately, one of the areas we've been working on is
mobile.
With more and more people equipped with smartphones such as
Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, HTC and other Android based handsets,
tablet computers, and a whole range of devices designed to keep the
user online while on the move, it is essential for the modern buyer
to be able to access City Auction Group's web services from such
devices.
In late 2011 we launched a mobile website which provided a
tailored web service to users accessing our auction catalogue from
a smartphone. At the end of 2012, we launched two new products: an
iPhone and an Android app, available to download free from the Apple App Store or from Google Play.
We spent a lot of time thinking about what was most important to
the mobile user. We've identified and delivered a number of key
features:
[1] Speed.
When you're on the move, you'll often have lots of demands on
your time. Your City Auction Mobile application gets to the point
immediately. You can locate an auction lot quickly using our search
function. Getting the latest auction dates is a single click of a
button.
[2] Personalisation.
Your telephone is personal to you, so the City Auction Group app
remembers which auction lots you've looked at recently allowing you
to pick up where you left off. You can also build up a list of
favourite lots while browsing our stock.
[3] Simple & Helpful.
The City Auction Group mobile app gives you all the key
information quickly, and we've simplified everything as much as
possible so that all the key controls are right where you need
them. Using a mobile app should be an enjoyable experience, not a
frustrating one!
Finally...
[4] QR CODES
We are now printing QR codes on our action lot labels. The City
Auction Group app includes a QR code scan feature: just point your
smartphone or tablet camera at the QR code whilst in scan mode, and
the app will bring up the details of that auction lot. If you like
what you can see, you can add the auction lot to your favourites
list to refer to later during the sale.
