Peterborough Buyer Terms and Conditions
Buyers Number
All potential buyers should obtain a buyers number prior to bidding. This is available from Reception for a deposit of £500 payable by cash or card and is fully refundable if you are unsuccessful at the auction event.
Auction Event
The auction sale will commence at the time stated and cars will normally be offered in lot number order. Each vehicle will display a windscreen description banner detailing all relevant information available to the auction house at time of entry.
Payment Terms
All vehicles should be fully paid within 24 hours of purchase and removed from premises within 3 working days. The balance and our bank account details can be confirmed at the main reception desk and payment should be completed by same day bank transfer or cash payment. Cheques are not acceptable for deposit or payment of vehicles.
Title and Insurance
Immediately after purchase the buyer must ensure the vehicle(s) is fully insured. Post sale vehicles are stored at the owners risk if insurance is not secured.
Vehicle Delivery
Arrangement for transportation of vehicles can be confirmed after sale at the main reception desk. Deliveries will be added to your invoice at time of payment.
Online bidding
All vehicle auctions have online buying capabilities. To register for this service contact the main reception office or register at www.cityauctiongroup.com. Each vehicle purchased online incurs an additional cost of £37.50+VAT (£45) per unit purchased subject to value added tax charged at the standard rate.
Vehicle Details
Whilst due care and attention is given to ensure the accuracy of the contents of the auction catalogue we will accept no responsibility for any omissions or misdescriptions contained therein. The auction catalogue and windscreen description banner are for guidance purposes only and it is the responsibility of the buyer to inspect the vehicle and satisfy themselves of the specification and condition both mechanical and cosmetically prior to bidding.
Auction Terms - all vehicles no matter age, price, make or model are ‘sold as seen’. No comeback whatsoever is acceptable on any vehicle purchased at our auction events. V5 registration documents applied for by auction may take up to six weeks to be issued by the DVA.
Customer must satisfy themselves that the health check is as stated by 5pm day after sale and prior to leaving centre. If vehicle has been delivered we must be notified within two hours of arrival at your dealership.
Health and Safety
All minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult to attend any auction held at City Auction Group Peterborough.
Buyer Premiums
Buy with confidence at City Auction Group Peterborough as every vehicle we offer is subject to a thorough history check to ensure the vehicle you purchase doesn’t have a hidden history which covers insurance claims, outstanding finance and stolen alert registers.
Digital online sales with arranged delivery require any issues related to a vehicle's bodywork or mechanical condition to be reported to the relevant center by the end of the day upon arrival—no exceptions. To qualify, vehicles must be paid for in accordance with the stated terms and conditions.

MECHANICAL CHECK
All vehicles under 8 years of age and 80,000 miles fully covered as per mechanical health check - Price £40
All vehicles over 8 years of age or 80,000 miles mechanical checked as per report but not covered for any form of rejection process - Price £25
Any issue with a health check must be raised with the team at Peterborough within 72 hours of purchase
Any vehicle driven more than 10 miles from point of collection/ delivery will not be covered for any form of rejection process
Other Fees
Cash Payment Charge - All vehicles purchased of a value of £1000 hammer price or over will be subject to a 2% charge which will be added to your invoice automatically.
